Publishing Policies
Licensing Terms, Terms of Use, Disclaimer, and Publication Ethics Policy โ all four governing documents of the Journal of International Research & Multidisciplinary Innovation.
- A. Licensing Terms โ CC BY 4.0
- B. Terms of Use โ Website & Submissions
- C. Disclaimer โ Views & Liability
- D. Publication Ethics โ COPE Aligned
Licensing Terms
This page sets out the licence under which JIRMI publishes articles, the licence authors grant to JIRMI, and the separate terms that apply to the website. Articles and the website are governed differently, and the difference is deliberate.
ยง 1What This Page Covers
There are three separate licensing positions:
| Content | Licence / Status |
|---|---|
| Published articles | ยฉ the author(s); licensed to the public under CC BY 4.0 |
| Article metadata | Dedicated to the public domain under CC0 1.0 |
| Website, design, logo, blogs, editorials | ยฉ JIRMI; all rights reserved |
ยง 2Licence to Readers and Users
Every article published in JIRMI is made available to the public under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0). There is no embargo. The article is open from the day it is published.
Anyone may copy, redistribute, translate, adapt and build upon a JIRMI article, in any medium or format, for any purpose including commercial purposes, on one condition: appropriate credit. Credit must name the author(s), the article title, the journal, the volume, issue and year, and the DOI, and must state whether changes were made. Credit must not be given in a way that suggests the author or JIRMI endorses the user or their use.
Preferred citation form:
[Author(s)]. "[Article Title]." Journal of International Research & Multidisciplinary Innovation (JIRMI), Vol. [X], Issue [Y] ([Year]). DOI: [doi]. Licensed under CC BY 4.0.
JIRMI does not require permission, registration or notification for any use permitted by CC BY 4.0. No fee is payable for such use.
ยง 3Material Owned by Others
The CC BY 4.0 licence covers the original content of the article. It does not extend to third-party material reproduced within an article โ figures, photographs, tables, datasets, instruments, code or extended quotations owned by someone else. Such material remains subject to its own terms and is identified in the article where it appears. Anyone wishing to reuse it must go to the rights holder.
Where an article or part of an article is subject to terms other than CC BY 4.0, this is stated on the article itself.
ยง 4What Authors Grant JIRMI
Authors keep their copyright. JIRMI does not take ownership of any article it publishes and never asks for a transfer or assignment of copyright.
On acceptance of a manuscript, the author(s) grant JIRMI a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual and irrevocable licence to:
- publish the article online in the relevant volume and issue of JIRMI;
- copy-edit and format it in JIRMI's house style, and produce derivative formats โ HTML, XML, mobile and accessibility-compliant versions โ for distribution;
- host it on jirmi.in and on backup, mirror and preservation copies;
- register a DOI for it with Crossref and deposit its metadata with Crossref, indexing services, abstracting services and repositories;
- distribute it to the public under CC BY 4.0;
- reproduce its title, abstract, author names and DOI for indexing and for announcing the article; and
- keep it permanently in JIRMI's archive, including after any correction or retraction notice.
Licence is not conditional on payment. This licence is granted on acceptance. It is not conditional on payment of the Article Processing Fee. Publication is conditional on the fee being paid or waived; the licence is not. JIRMI may assign this licence, in whole, to any successor entity that takes over publication of the journal. It may not otherwise sub-licence beyond CC BY 4.0 without the author's written consent.
ยง 5What Authors Keep
Everything else. In particular, and without needing JIRMI's permission:
- The author may deposit and share the submitted, accepted and published versions anywhere and at any time โ personal site, institutional repository, SSRN, arXiv, ResearchGate, Academia.edu, a preprint server, social media โ with no embargo.
- The author may reuse the article, in whole or in part, in a thesis, a book, a chapter, teaching material or later work.
- The author may translate the article, commercially or otherwise, and may authorise others to do so.
- The author may reuse their own figures, tables and data anywhere.
- The author may republish the article elsewhere. JIRMI's consent is not required and is never asked for. We ask only that the first publication in JIRMI be acknowledged with the DOI.
- The author may bring infringement proceedings in their own name.
Moral rights, including the right to be identified as author, are unaffected to the extent the applicable law provides.
ยง 6Metadata
Bibliographic metadata for JIRMI articles โ titles, author names, affiliations, abstracts, keywords, references, DOIs, dates โ is released under CC0 1.0 and may be harvested, stored, reused and redistributed freely by anyone, including commercially, without attribution.
ยง 7Text and Data Mining, and AI
CC BY 4.0 permits text and data mining, indexing, crawling, and use of articles in machine learning and AI training datasets, commercially or otherwise, subject only to attribution. JIRMI does not impose any additional restriction, does not require a separate licence for these uses, and does not charge for them.
ยง 8Website, Name and Logo
The website, its design, source code, page text, blog posts, editorials, announcements and images are ยฉ JIRMI and are not covered by CC BY 4.0. All rights are reserved except as the law otherwise allows.
"JIRMI" and the JIRMI name and logo are not licensed for reuse. They may not be used in a way that suggests affiliation with, sponsorship by, or endorsement from the journal. Nothing in CC BY 4.0 grants any trade mark rights.
The JIRMI manuscript template may be downloaded, used and adapted freely for the purpose of preparing a manuscript, for JIRMI or for any other journal.
ยง 9Corrections, Retractions and Withdrawal
The CC BY 4.0 licence granted on publication is irrevocable and survives any correction, expression of concern or retraction. A retracted article stays online, clearly marked as retracted, with the retraction notice linked to it and the Crossref record updated. Neither JIRMI nor an author can withdraw an article from public circulation once published, and neither can impose new restrictions on copies already distributed.
ยง 10Permissions and Queries
For anything outside CC BY 4.0 โ reuse of the website, the logo, or third-party material in an article โ write to editor@jirmi.in with "Permissions" in the subject line. We respond within three working days.
ยง 11Version and Governing Law
These terms take effect on 01 January 2026 and apply to all articles published from Vol. 1, Issue 1 onwards. They may be revised; the version in force at the date of acceptance governs the article. Earlier versions remain available on request. Licences already granted are not affected by a revision.
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Mumbai have jurisdiction, without prejudice to an author's right to bring proceedings in their own jurisdiction where the law permits.
Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of jirmi.in and apply to all visitors, readers, and authors. If you submit a manuscript, additional policies also apply.
ยง 1Who We Are
jirmi.in is operated by JIRMI, a sole proprietorship having its office at 103, Surya CHS, Natwar Nagar Road No. 1, Jogeshwari East, Mumbai โ 400060 ("JIRMI", "we", "us"). Contact: editor@jirmi.in.
ยง 2Acceptance
By using this website you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the site. If you submit a manuscript, the Author Guidelines, the Licensing Terms, the Publication Ethics Policy and the Article Processing Fee page also apply to you, and where they conflict with these terms on a publishing matter, they prevail.
ยง 3Permitted Use of the Site
You may read, download and print material on this site for your own use. Articles carry their own, wider licence โ see the Licensing Terms above. Everything else on the site (design, code, page text, blog posts, editorials, images, the JIRMI name and logo) is ours and is not licensed for reuse.
You must not:
- copy or republish the website's own content beyond what these terms or the law allow;
- scrape, crawl or make automated requests at a rate that burdens the site (article text and metadata may be mined freely โ see the Licensing Terms โ but not by degrading the service for others);
- attempt to access any part of the site, server or database you are not authorised to access;
- upload anything containing malware, or anything unlawful, defamatory, obscene or infringing;
- impersonate another person, or submit a manuscript in someone else's name or with a fabricated identity or affiliation;
- use the site or the JIRMI name in a way suggesting affiliation with, or endorsement by, the journal.
ยง 4Submissions and Fees
Submission does not create any obligation on us to publish. Editorial decisions are ours and are made in accordance with the Review Process and the Publication Ethics Policy. The Article Processing Fee is payable only on acceptance, on the terms set out on the Article Processing Fee page, and refunds are governed by the Cancellation & Refund Policy.
ยง 5Accuracy and Availability
We try to keep the site accurate and available, but we do not guarantee either. Content may be revised, corrected, withdrawn or moved. The site may be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons outside our control.
ยง 6Third-Party Links
Links to other websites are provided for convenience. We do not control them, do not endorse them, and are not responsible for their content or their handling of your data.
ยง 7Liability
To the extent the law permits, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, data, goodwill or opportunity, arising from use of this site or reliance on anything published on it. Our total liability to you in connection with the site and any single manuscript is limited to the Article Processing Fee you actually paid for that manuscript, or โน5,000, whichever is higher.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
ยง 8Indemnity
If you submit material to us, you indemnify us against any claim, loss or cost we suffer because that material infringes someone's rights, breaches a confidence, is defamatory, or was submitted in breach of these terms or of the warranties in your submission declarations.
ยง 9Suspension
We may restrict or block access to the site, or decline to consider submissions from a person, where we reasonably believe these terms have been breached or where the Publication Ethics Policy provides for sanctions.
ยง 10Changes
We may amend these terms. The current version is always on this page with its version number and date. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept it.
ยง 11Governing Law
Indian law governs these terms. The courts at Mumbai have jurisdiction.
Disclaimer
This disclaimer applies to everything published by JIRMI on jirmi.in.
Views Are the Authors'
Everything published in JIRMI represents the views of the author or authors of that article. It does not represent the views of JIRMI, its editors, its editorial board members, its reviewers, or the institutions any of them are associated with. Publication does not signify endorsement of the argument, the findings or the conclusions.
Not Professional Advice
Nothing published by JIRMI is legal, medical, clinical, financial, engineering or other professional advice, and none of it should be relied on as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who knows your circumstances. This matters particularly for our medical, health and legal content: no article on this site should be used to diagnose or treat a person, to decide a course of clinical care, or to decide a legal position. Law and clinical practice change; an article is accurate, at best, as at the date it was written.
Limits of Peer Review
Double-blind peer review is a check on quality, not a guarantee of it. Reviewers work from the manuscript as submitted. They do not repeat experiments, re-run statistics, audit datasets, verify every citation, or independently confirm ethics approvals. Peer review reduces the risk of error; it does not eliminate it. Responsibility for the accuracy, originality and integrity of an article rests with its authors.
Accuracy and Currency
We make reasonable efforts to keep the site accurate and up to date, but give no warranty that it is. Content may contain errors and may be corrected, retracted or removed.
External Links and Third-Party Content
Links to other sites, and third-party material reproduced in articles, are outside our control. We are not responsible for their content, accuracy or availability.
AI-Assisted Content
Authors must disclose the use of AI tools in the preparation of their manuscript. Disclosure is a transparency measure; it is not verification by us of any AI-assisted content, and the author remains fully accountable for everything submitted and published.
No Guarantee of Acceptance, Indexing or Metrics
The Article Processing Fee is a charge for processing an accepted manuscript. It does not purchase acceptance. Acceptance and payment do not guarantee that an article will be indexed by, or retained in, any particular database, or that it will attract citations or any metric. Indexing decisions belong to the indexing bodies alone.
Liability
To the extent the law permits, JIRMI, its editors, its editorial board and its reviewers accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from use of, or reliance on, anything published on this site. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Publication Ethics Policy
Aligned with COPE Core Practices, the ICMJE authorship criteria, and the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing.
ยง 1Ownership and Editorial Independence
JIRMI is published by JIRMI, a sole proprietorship having its office at 103, Surya CHS, Natwar Nagar Road No. 1, Jogeshwari East, Mumbai โ 400060. The publisher funds the journal through the Article Processing Fee and takes no part in decisions on individual manuscripts. The Editor-in-Chief has final authority over what is published. No advertiser, sponsor, institution, funder or publisher representative influences acceptance, rejection or the content of an article. JIRMI accepts no advertising โ see the Advertising Policy.
ยง 2Authorship
Authorship requires all four of the following (ICMJE criteria):
- a substantial contribution to the conception or design of the work, or to acquiring, analysing or interpreting the data;
- drafting the work or revising it critically for important intellectual content;
- approval of the version submitted and of the final published version; and
- agreement to be accountable for the work, including for the accuracy and integrity of the parts the person did not personally carry out.
Anyone meeting all four must be listed. Anyone not meeting all four must not be listed, and should be credited in the Acknowledgements instead. Funding, supervision, providing facilities, providing data, or general departmental oversight do not, on their own, make a person an author.
Not permitted: guest authorship (adding someone who did not contribute), gift or honorary authorship, and ghost authorship (omitting someone who did contribute). These are treated as misconduct.
AI tools cannot be authors. They cannot take responsibility for the work. Their use must be disclosed in accordance with the AI Use Policy.
Corresponding author. The corresponding author handles all communication with JIRMI, confirms that every co-author has approved the submission, and grants the publishing licence on behalf of all authors. JIRMI separately emails each listed co-author for confirmation at submission.
Changes to authorship after submission โ adding, removing or reordering authors โ require a written request signed by all authors, including the one being added or removed, with reasons. The Editor-in-Chief decides. Authorship is not changed after publication except by way of a published correction.
Author limit. JIRMI currently accepts up to three authors per manuscript. This is an operational limit, not an ethical position; where the nature of the research genuinely requires more, write to the editor before submitting.
ยง 3Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose, at submission, any financial or non-financial interest that a reasonable reader might think could have influenced the work: funding and grants, employment and consultancies, honoraria, patents and patent applications, shareholdings, paid expert testimony, membership of an advocacy group, a professional relationship with the subject of the research, and any personal relationship that bears on it. If there is nothing to declare, say so. The disclosure is published with the article.
Reviewers must decline an invitation, or disclose and let the editor decide, where they have worked with an author recently, are at the same institution, have a competing interest in the subject, or stand to benefit from the outcome.
Editors must recuse themselves from any manuscript in which they have an interest.
Submissions by editors and board members. Editorial board members and the Editor-in-Chief may submit to JIRMI. Such a manuscript is handled entirely by another editor, the submitting person has no access to the file, the reviewer identities or the decision, and the fact that the paper was handled independently is stated in the published article.
ยง 4Research Ethics
Human participants. Research involving human participants, their tissue or their identifiable data must have been approved by an institutional ethics committee or equivalent body. Give the committee's name and the approval reference in the manuscript. Say that informed consent was obtained. Where there was no such committee, explain why and confirm the research followed the Declaration of Helsinki.
Patient identity. Case reports, clinical images, scans and any material from which a patient could be identified require written informed consent from the patient or their legal representative. JIRMI may ask to see the consent form. Anonymising an image by masking the eyes is not sufficient.
Animals. Research involving animals must state the approving body and the guidelines followed (CPCSEA, ARRIVE or equivalent).
Clinical trials must be registered prospectively โ CTRI or another WHO primary registry โ and the registration number must be given.
Field and social research involving vulnerable groups must state how consent was obtained and how participants were protected.
The Editor-in-Chief may refuse or retract any manuscript where the ethical basis of the research cannot be established.
ยง 5Data and Materials
Authors must keep their raw data and be able to produce it if an editor or reviewer asks during review or within a reasonable period afterwards. Authors are encouraged to include a data availability statement saying where the data can be found or why it cannot be shared. Manipulating images or data to misrepresent a finding is misconduct.
ยง 6Prior Publication, Preprints and Duplicate Submission
A manuscript must not be under consideration anywhere else at the same time. It must not have been published elsewhere. Preprints, conference papers, working papers and unpublished thesis chapters do not bar submission, provided they are disclosed in the submission notes. Splitting one piece of research into several articles to increase output ("salami slicing") is misconduct. Plagiarism and self-plagiarism are dealt with in the Anti-Plagiarism Policy.
ยง 7Allegations of Misconduct
Anyone may raise a concern. Write to editor@jirmi.in with "Publication Concern โ [Manuscript ID or DOI]" in the subject line. Anonymous reports are considered but are harder to act on.
We follow the COPE flowcharts. In outline:
- The Editor-in-Chief acknowledges the concern within 5 working days.
- The author is given the specific allegation and a fair opportunity to respond, normally within 14 days. Concerns are not treated as proved because they were made.
- Where necessary the editor seeks independent expert opinion, or contacts the author's institution โ the institution, not the journal, investigates research misconduct.
- The outcome is decided by the Editor-in-Chief, recorded in writing, and communicated to the person who raised the concern and to the author.
- The identity of the person raising the concern is kept confidential unless disclosure is unavoidable.
Sanctions, depending on severity: rejection; withdrawal of acceptance; correction; retraction; notification of the author's institution, employer, or professional or regulatory body; and a bar on future submissions for a stated period.
An editor who is the subject of a complaint takes no part in handling it. Appeals are governed by the Complaints & Appeals Policy.
ยง 8Corrections, Expressions of Concern and Retractions
Correction (corrigendum or erratum). Issued where a genuine error does not affect the validity of the findings. The article stands; a correction notice is published, linked from the article, and the Crossref record updated.
Expression of concern. Issued where there is credible reason to doubt an article but the investigation is unresolved or inconclusive. The article stays accessible with the notice attached.
Retraction. Issued where the findings are unreliable through error or fabrication, where plagiarism or duplicate publication is established, where the research lacked required ethical approval, where the authors did not have the right to publish, or where there was undisclosed competing interest serious enough to undermine the work.
Retraction is not a punishment and is not used to settle authorship disputes or disagreements of interpretation.
A retracted article is not deleted. It stays online, watermarked and labelled as retracted on every page and in its metadata, with the retraction notice linked to it and the Crossref record updated. The retraction notice states who retracted the article and why. Retraction does not affect the CC BY licence already granted โ see the Licensing Terms above.
Removal of an article happens only where leaving it online would be unlawful, would violate a court order, or would create a serious risk to health or to an identifiable person's privacy. The citation and metadata remain, with a note explaining the removal.
ยง 9Special Issues and Guest Editors
Where JIRMI publishes a special issue, the guest editor is named, and their own submissions to that issue are handled independently by the Editor-in-Chief and make up no more than 25% of the issue. Special-issue articles go through the same review process and the same standards as any other article.
ยง 10Reviewers and Confidentiality
A submitted manuscript is a confidential document. It must not be shown to, or discussed with, anyone outside the editorial process; must not be used for the reviewer's own advantage; and must not be pasted into AI tools that retain or train on input. Reviewer obligations are set out in full in the Review Policy and the AI Use Policy.
ยง 11Post-Publication Discussion
Readers may raise substantive criticism of a published article by writing to editor@jirmi.in. Where the criticism has merit, we will put it to the authors and, where appropriate, publish a comment, a response, or a correction.
ยง 12Review of This Policy
Reviewed annually, or sooner where COPE guidance changes. The version in force at the date of acceptance governs a manuscript.
Current version: Version 1.0 ยท Effective 01 January 2026. Aligned with COPE Core Practices and ICMJE authorship criteria.
